Literature Text
#1: April's Fool! April, April!
Du dachtest wohl
es würd der Frühling kommen.
April, April!
And you thought
Spring was coming.
April's fool!
#2: Firefly
I light my matches
and set the flies afire
still not beautiful.
#3: Zaubertrank I
Drei Flaumfedern und
eine handvoll Krokusduft
gelöst in Honig
wird im Garten zu Frühling
und in der Stadt zu Lachen.
#4: Magischer Moment/ Magic Moment
In mondfinst'rer Nacht
auf taubenetzter Heide
das Lied der Pappel.
In moondarkenend night
on dew- moistened heather
the cottonwood's song.
#5: Zaubtertrank II /Magic Potion II
Das Fläschchen voll Glück
aus Regen und Sonnenschein
zaubert ein Lächeln.
The bottle full of luck
made from rain and sunshine
casts a smile.
#6: Frühlingstraum/ Dream of Spring
Ein leises Flüstern
schimmert zwischen Eichblättern
Persephone träumt.
A silent whisper
shimmering between oak leaves
Persephone dreams.
#7: Birth of a poem
Stuck behind my throat
all those words piling up high
spill forth in black ink.
#8: Knight Rider
Faster and faster
living high on danger's edge
no brakes were built in.
#9: Hell Hound
With innocent eyes
those claws will rip your flesh off
and then lick your skin...
#10: Libriomancer
Every word written
casts its own spell on the world
miracle set free.
#11: Vampire
A stake through my heart
and I'll return to ashes
crimson revival
#12: Snapdragon
A mouth without teeth
is breathing summer's perfume
a bit too early.
#13: Lord of Clouds
Accumulate, y'all!
rain's children are fighting
the smalles crying.
#14: Rainsheep
Thunder and Lightning
guide their tired flock of sheep
to fertile grounds.
#15: Tomorrow
Worship the unknown
deity with fickle moods
take a risk some days!
#16: Chicken soup
Steam warming my cheeks
like mother's embrace from afar
a spoonfull of love.
#17: Ready, Player One?
First step into darkness
unknown dangers wait afoot
brought enough torches?
#18: Koi Pond
The mighty heron
watches over their silence
kois whisper secrets.
#19: Lantern song
I walk with my lamp
towards the endless darkness
of discovery.
#20: Lantern waltz
Up and up the hill
light glitters above my path
we walk hand in hand.
#21: Summer
Heated black asphalt
I press my cheek against
cool glass of root beer.
#22: Forget-me -
Hiding in shadows
old memories of friendship
stained with new blood.
#23: Poetess
I sing the swallows
up in the starless sky and
give them the moon.
#24: Poet
I stained white paper
with a thousand butterflies
hiding my feelings.
#25: Rainy day
The sun is shining
humid air smells sharp and fresh
wet grass in the future.
#26: A good Omen - Hell's got nothing on London
Why tempt these mortals
they do it well enough on their own -
invented chocolate.
In the back of this bookshop
let me enjoy something holy.
#27: A good Omen -Heaven's got nothing on London
Why help those mortals
they do just fine on their own -
bodyguards of fate.
In the back of this bookshop
I let myself be tempted.
#28: Mary Sue
Too many problems
of awesomness in my head
drowned in purple prose.
#29: Caramell kisses
The taste of salt on
and that hint of sweetness hide
personalities.

That's it, I'm all done
black scribbles on white paper
fantasy switched off.

This journal will hold my entries for Haiku Club's 2015 April HaikuWriMo! I'll update it daily (more or less, anyway). Wish me luck!
